charter schools significantly outperform neighborhood
schools on State assessments of student achievement. |

Note: Charter schools that have not yet administered the PSAE - for example, those that include

Graduation Rate (2007)
Charter High Schools vs. Neighborhood Schools

Seven out of eight charter schools achieved substantially
higher graduation rates than their comparison schools. |
Note: The graduation rate is calculated as the number of 2006-2007 high school graduates,
divided by the quantity of first time ninth grade 2002 fall enrollment, minus students transferred
out, plus students transferred in, multiplied by 100. If a charter school has not yet had a graduating
class, that school would not be included in this analysis.
