How do you enroll your child in a charter school?
Please fill out the following information to be taken to a list of the many charter schools in Chicago. We have provided a brief description about each charter school and its application process, where available. You will need to contact the school directly to apply – each school has a separate application process. YOU MUST FILL OUT EACH SCHOOL'S FORM INDIVIDUALLY IN ORDER TO APPLY. Charter schools give parents and children of all backgrounds and income levels the power and the responsibility to choose the best educational option for their children. Enrollment in charter schools is open to all students, without an entrance exam, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, or disability status. If there are more applications submitted than available openings, the school must hold a "lottery" to select students. However, different charter schools have different deadlines and application requirements. You should contact the school directly to request an application. We encourage you to plan ahead and apply to multiple schools. Many schools have waiting lists so the earlier you apply the better. While every school has a different deadline, most schools begin taking applications for the following school year in the fall or winter.
